Pro Guide

Your complete guide to professional music distribution

Getting Started

Welcome to TekenJezelfRecords. This guide walks you through everything you need to know to release your music professionally and maximize your reach across all major digital streaming platforms.

Whether you're an independent artist releasing your first single or a label managing a full roster, our platform gives you the tools to distribute, track, and monetize your music worldwide.

Preparing Your Release

  • Audio Quality: Upload WAV files at 16-bit/44.1kHz or higher. We accept FLAC as well. MP3 files are not accepted for distribution.
  • Cover Artwork: Minimum 3000×3000 pixels, JPEG or PNG, no blurriness, no unauthorized logos or URLs, and no explicit imagery unless the release is marked explicit.
  • Metadata: Ensure track titles, artist names, and credits are accurate. Changes after distribution can take weeks to propagate across platforms.
  • ISRC Codes: We generate ISRC codes automatically for each track. If you have existing ISRCs, you can enter them during the upload process.
  • UPC/EAN: A barcode is auto-assigned to every release. You may also provide your own if you have one.

Distribution Timeline

Once your release is approved and submitted for distribution:

  • Spotify: 3–5 business days
  • Apple Music & iTunes: 1–3 business days
  • Deezer, Tidal, Amazon Music: 3–7 business days
  • YouTube Music, TikTok, Instagram: 3–7 business days

We recommend submitting your release at least 3 weeks before your desired release date to account for review times and platform processing.

Royalties & Payments

Earnings from streaming platforms are collected monthly and appear in your dashboard. Payouts are processed once your balance reaches the minimum threshold.

  • Revenue splits can be configured per track among collaborators
  • Detailed analytics show streams, revenue, and listener demographics
  • Payments are made via PayPal or bank transfer depending on your region

Best Practices

  • Plan your release strategy — use pre-save campaigns and pitch to playlist curators
  • Verify your artist profiles on Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists, and similar platforms
  • Keep your metadata consistent across all releases for better discoverability
  • Engage your audience on social media around release dates
  • Monitor your analytics dashboard regularly to understand your audience
